Michael Kibbe’s Horn trio consists of three movements. The first two are fast ones, with slow introductions, while the last one is in a fast 6/8. The first movement is based on tone clusters, with three parts that move mostly independently (the page looks somewhat similar to a fugue). The second movement uses E major and minor chords as its base, with subsequent modulations into other keys. The element that defines the third movement is the tritone, with progressions built on it. There are also almost as many accidentals as there are notes.
Overall a good trio to work on, and, if enjoyed, play in concert.
