Performance Notes

This is a transcription of Lasso’s setting of Psalm 54, verses 2-3, the Exaudi Deus for a capella choir. Similar to other motets of the late Renaissance, this work displays a mature polyphony, and is, due to its limited range and tempo, accessible for beginner’s quartets.
