Performance Notes
Cornocopia is a quartet in three movements, with the first characterised by the interval of a second. In its simple form that means two adjacent notes one step apart; in a more extended form scales, in this case usually spanning a sixth. The 2nd movement retains this element, and add the interval of a fifth to the mix. The 3rd movement is built on triads, and is the only movement of medium difficulty (the other two are easy). This is an ideal piece for an ambitious beginner’s ensemble, wanting to face a challenge.
