Performance Notes
Another one of Walsh’s arrangements, the Prelude op.23 no.5 is the most famous out of the set of ten. Much information can be found about it online, and recordings about. This arrangement is faithful to the score, though changing the key from sounding pitch G minor to horn pitch G minor. It also omits the broken chords figure in the middle section, as well as those in the finale. While the former would have most likely been too difficult to integrate successfully, the ones at the end are missed. Nevertheless this is a good arrangement, and will hopefully become available one day.
