Performance Notes
The first volume of Anyone four carols? by George Hyde is based on - God rest ye, merry gentlemen - We three kings of orient are - Carol of the bells - It come upon a midnight clear They are re-harmonized in the typical Hyde fashion, varied in key, meter, tempo, modulation, you name it, while still sounding familiar to the audience. This leaves the room with the distinct feeling of having heard these some place before, but never ever in this way. And that is a good thing.
