Performance Notes
This easy arrangement by Max Pottag combines three “country-eske” miniatures, the first being a short, slow, 4-bar introduction, followed by the more extended, still slow Evening bells, and closing with a piece that does its name justice: The hunter. As with all easy Pottag quartet arrangement, the range is limited, even though in this case the 4th horn reaches the pedal register. In country follows a long line of Pottag arrangements, and offers little more, but no less than any of the others. If you are after an easy suite of two chorale and one hunting song quartets, this is one of the publications to look for.
