Performance Notes:

This is an arrangement of four (fast) movements of Grainger's Lincolnshire posy, a piece originally written for large symphonic band. The movements are outlined above, and are played almost attacca in this version, with only a held note (fermata) between the ending of the old and beginning of the new. The tunes for each movement are adapted from English folk songs (from his trip to Lincolnshire in 1905-06).

Again, the characteristics of all Meyer arrangements apply, with the parts paired in two, and a descending tessitura with ascending numbers. The range of the lower horns is wider than the ones of the high ones, while in this case the first horn part onyl reaches a2. Recordings can be found easily, and being a great piece and arrangement, Meyer's version can only be recommended.
