Performance Notes:

This is the very first Hornists’ Nest publication, dating back to 1964, a transcription of five Bach works for horn trio by Lowell E. Shaw. Many of the elements that would define publications to come are present: the characteristic front page, the hard cover, the price marked on the music, clear and economical type setting, and last, but not least, great content prepared with a lot of attention to detail.

The reasons for the success of the publisher can be seen straight away: high quality arrangements of interesting works with a moderate level of difficulty. This made and makes Hornists’ Nest publications accessible to a large number of ensembles, from very few players to many, with this very first release no exception.
