Performance Notes:
Au couvent is part of Borodin's Petite suite, and originally a piano piece in C sharp minor. This arrangement is in F minor (C minor horn pitch), and makes some smart allowances for the use of the piano pedal by adding sustained notes. A true chorale that has been arranged various times (here is the original piano version), this arrangement for horn quartet is just a bit too high for the beginning quartet.
